Job Description/Responsibilities As a Staff Engineer you will design, develop, and test robust, scalable data platform components. By collaborating with our talented Engineers, Product Managers and Commercial teams, you’ll be a driving force in defining new data products and features. We are looking for someone with a strong software engineering, distributed data systems and ETL background.
Work with the Product team to have a clear understanding of the product roadmap and understand how Media Planning fits in the overall vision
Familiarize yourself with the existing codebase and help troubleshoot production application issues (there aren’t too many!), to get an insight into how the system works
Work collaboratively with other engineering teams and incorporate best practices
Provide hands-on technical leadership in the development team.
Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
Skills/Qualifications
You have a strong technical background, including 6+ years of experience designing and engineering large-scale systems
You have served as the technical lead and defined the roadmap for complex projects spanning multiple teams and functions
You prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what will last and scale
You work well cross-functionally and earn trust from co-workers at all levels. You are often cited as the inspiration for engineers that join your team
Senior engineers feel they are able to learn from you and you care deeply about mentoring and growing engineers
You have worked with Batch and/or Streaming data processing systems like Spark, Hive and Hadoop
You have experience with modern database/storage systems and are familiar with BI tooling like Looker or Tableau
You have built scalable applications or data pipelines using Python, or some comparable language like Golang or Scala
You have a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field or applicable experience in the industry.

AWS Lambda, Kubernetes for running our applications
Postgres, S3, Elasticsearch, Dynamo as data stores
