Job Description/Responsibilities
We are looking for engineers to join our cloud team where the focus is on designing software to support distributed data systems at scale. Our team is at the center of the full software stack here, providing you with exposure to a variety of technologies and engineering disciplines.
What you'll be up to:

Architect and build the software to scale a fast-growing, disruptive first-mover company.
Collaborate with product managers and team members to gather requirements, design, and develop solutions within an agile environment.
Participate in code reviews and help maintain high standards of code quality.
Stay up to date with relevant technologies to create an exceptional product.
Work with DevOps team to deploy and monitor applications to our cloud environments.

Skills/Qualifications

5 years of professional programming experience
Proficiency in the Hadoop Ecosystem (e.g. Spark, HDFS, Hive, HBase, Impala, etc.)
Proficient in Scala or Java, release management, Code coverage, virtualenv, and testing frameworks
Minimum 2 years’ experience in developing big data jobs in Spark, Map-reduce, or other big data technologies
Comprehensive understanding of computer science fundamentals and design patterns
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent problem-solving and implementation skills
Self-motivated and passionate about bringing new software to market

Bonus Skills:

Experience with AWS cloud computing technologies (e.g. EMR, CloudWatch, etc)
DevOps practices and principles
Strong familiarity and/or contribution to Open Source projects
Familiarity with a scripting language ( e.g. Python)
